Boo’s Party Bus

Once a year, we get to celebrate this guys’ special day. This year was no different, he always knows how to throw a party and it was such a blast.

The idea is meet up at their place, hop in a party bus, drive 45 mins north to his parents house, they feed is some amazing food and have couple of drinks and then drive back to a Seattle to party some more and dance the night away at Candy Pop in Chopseuy.

We started the drive with an ice breaker introducing ourselves to everyone just in case everyone doesn’t know each other and share a story how we met Boo. Everybody got their time and one thing stood out, it’s Boo’s love for Beyonce. No surprise about that!

Took awhile til we got people standing up and dancing by the poles but once everybody got warmed up with some drinks together with Boo’s very well known playlist, the party got started.

We got to the Ozuna’s residence and the feast was waiting for us. Boo’s parents together with Aunt Liz never fails. From the beans to the salad and yummy sliders, I was obsessed!!!

Of course, it was not a part not unless Janet takes a shot with us with er choice of drink... FIREBALL of course. We may have had a shot or two. 🙈

Of course we would end up at our “home” bar.

The night ended with half of the group going dancing next door and some of us stayed for more drinks. By the time we followed them to dance the night away, everybody was ready to go home.

Happy Happy birthday Boo! Mahal na mahal kita!

Boo's 2nd Surprise

Yes, it's another surprise for Boo on his 21st birthday.
This guy deserves all the love that he is getting from his friends and family members.

I've met Boo's mom parents before. First was on his freshman year when the UW Men's Volleyball club team had a fundraiser event. It was very casual and short. I don't even remember what conversation we had at that time. And the second time was quite a surprise when I showed up to recent tournament here in Seattle and his mom was there together with his cousin. We had a longer chat this time and they even watched my match.

A week later she emailed me to inform me that she was planning on a surprise trip for Boo on his 21'st birthday. And of course, I instantlyagreed to participate. Easy task, all she asked was for some help to pack some of favorite clothes together with what she had "stolen" (in her own term) while Boo was on summer break at home.

The day came and Boo is 21. YAY!!! I had to work that day and had PT/Rehab session and rushed to his place to start packing his stuff while the family was out for dinner. . At first I had no clue what to pack but i definitely knew what his favotires was. Why? Because I like those favorites too and I probably had previews of those items before he purchased it. My numero uno Cambodian was contacted by his mom as well to take pictures of the precious event. So we tagged along from his house to the airport.

Boo was clueless of the whole thing. He thought that after dinner, his cousin Megan and his brother GF will follow so we can party that night and celebrate.Little did he know he will be flying to Malibu,CA at Pepperdine.

I'll let the pictures explain how the whole surprise went...

Here's me packing his favorite clothes.

Boo and family arrived at the airport. Eyes blind folded and car blasting with music
so he won't hear as much overhead announcements at the airport..

His cousin Megan guiding him off the car...

Meanwhile, his mom is trying to organize the signs they made.

Signs still not up. Everybody was too excited.
The look on his dad's face is too precious. Haha!

We are ready!!!

Clueless and obviously nervous.

SURPRISE!!!

Time for hugs for everyone!

Group pic with everyone.

Such a precious moment captured with Boo and his mom.

I packed tons of his favorite shoes and clothes and tried to fit it on two
Lululemon bags so gets to choose what to bring. I was specifically looking
for that yellow striped tank that I got him from RVCA while I was in San Francisco
but his mom already got it. Phew!

More packing decisions.

His mom also had an idea for some reading materials while he is on the plane.
I've asked couple of people close to Boo to write a card for his birthday.
This one was from Kane, a homemade birthday card craftly done and I'm pretty
sure the content was just as special.

Couple of laugs before he goes.

I love hugs coming from this guy. So sincere and meaning ful and
definitely deserves the same.

His brothers girlfriend Emma gets her huge hug!

Sharing hugs with his brother.
Thanks Jacob and Emma for keeping me posted of the updates that night.

Cousin Megan who is always put together and so gorgeous.

Hugs with the Dad.

Ok, promise this is the last group picture of us. Haha!

I've asked Camby to follow him on the security line to get a paparazzi shot before
he leaves.

Check on Boo's 1st Birthday suprise with the the UW girls and close friends when he had a scavenger hunt and dinner with close friends.

Mahal na Mahal Kita Boo!!!

Boo's Birthday Blanket

Boo's birthday was Sept. 22nd and I was getting really mad that my gift was back ordered so bad. I even paid $15 for a 2-day air shipping x-(.

Yesterday, my gift for him finally came in, just in time for us to see each other from his surprise birthday trip to Malibu,CA. I'll make a separate entry about it when I gather the pics from a friend who took pictures that night. I kinda wish it came in on time though so that I could have laid it out on his bed for him to see right when he comes back.

Anyways, I've heard of this website that makes a woven picture blanket and thought it would be a perfect gift for Boo. I looked into details and it was affordable and was something that he can use. I thought a blanket was a perfect gift coz I remember him talking about me having lack of "couch blankets/throws" at home. So maybe he would bring this whenever he comes over. Haha! When it came in, I immediately opened the package and laid it out on the pull out couch and it was a perfect size (60x50). I am thinking of ordering one for me, granted this is both our favorite pic together... Well at least one of them for me.

I got the woven blanket at Shutterfly. I'm definitely ordering another one :).

Surprise Boo!!!

It was a special night for a very special person in my life. It was my dear Boo's (MaxieBoo) surprise birthday dinner collectively planned by the lovely ladies of UW Volleyball.

Ky and Jo contacted me couple of days before the surprise telling me that they wanted to plan a scavenger hunt for Boo and end the night with dinner together with our closest friends. Couple of weeks before then, we have secretly been talking about that night and we just wanted to make it a special night.

Boo had no clue and was totally surprised by it all. Here was my lil bit of struggle... Boo and I planned to hang out Thursday and Friday and knowing that the surprise was Friday, I had to figure out how to "get rid" of him so he won't have any clue on what was really gonna happen. I told the girls to let him know right away about their plans on that Friday. So, basically I was just waiting for Boo to cancel on me for our Friday. Sure enough, I got the text and of course I had to give him a lil of a hard time about it. Haha! He was a lil upset that I was upset that he canceled lil did he know I was into something. I think I even used the line "So much for no interreptions" and that probably got him. Sorry Boo!

So we hangout Thursday night with couple of Red Box rentals and drinks til the next day came that the both of us was just tired. We took a nap and next thing you know it was 4:30 pm. I was like "when does he leave? I have to get ready" in the back of my head. LOL!

I tried to take a picture of Boo as he removes his blindfold at the restaurant but obviously he was too happy and surprised that all I got was a blurry picture. LOL!

So much fun that night surprising my Boo. I hope I don't have to pay for it soon since I gave you a hard time while planning it.

Happy Birthday Kane

View from Nakamura and Transemme's rooftop

I've gotten really close to this guy the past few months and I wanted to make his birthday a lil special.
Sometimes, all it takes is a birthday cake, a bottle of wine and some beer and a whole bunch of friends to make somebodys birthday extra special.

I love you my Kane!!!

Serving Tacoma Realness!!!

It's been years since the last time I went out in Tacoma,WA. If I'm not mistaken, I was probably 19 or 20 years old the last time I went clubbing there (remember when Destiny's, an under age after hours club?).

But this past weekend, the gang head down south and visit/celebrate a good friends birthday.
JAE BIRD!!!

We started the night in an Irish Pub called O'Malleys which we end up calling O'Nellies just to gay up the place a lil bit since its all Military men and girls there. The place was bright with pool tables and other games. We didn't spend much time there but we definitely downed couple of drinks. I even got Jae and I free shots for her birthday!!! (trick is you let the bartender know that it's somebody's birthday. some bartenders automatically give out free shots... try it!)

I wasn't able to take pics but thanks to my friends and their new iPhone4s, they were able to capture some of the moments. (i'll add more pics when Jae figures out uploading her pics since I heard she broke her camera that night)
Me, Jae and Odessa tearing up the dance floor with our Bye Gurl signs!
SO MUCH FUN dancing with these two.
Us girls again and Conrad joining the fun

We then found this parking lot down the hill from Silverstone and lil 'ol drunk us decided to do some pictorial sesh. The graffiti walls was pretty so we could pass the oppurtunity.

Serving Tacoma Realness!!!
This was a fierce dragon graffiti. Loved it!

Happy Birthday Jae! Had so much fun celebrating your birthday in Tacoma!
There goes my 1 Tacoma visit a year. Haha!
